Dear Jenny & Paul,

If you're looking for a sequence of directives to try with a preschooler who is dealing with strong emotion, try the following suggestions from Lena's preschool teacher (God bless that woman!);



1. STOP and take a deep breath.




2. State how you are FEELING.




3. WALK AWAY if you need to (take a break, talk to a grown up, find something new to do, move to a different spot).
