Two of a Kind

Two kids, separate stories...

With Lena in preschool now and regularly attending Sunday School, she has been collecting an assortment of worksheets.  I've been caught several times in the last few weeks attempting to file them in our circular file (read: garbage) to which I get generously chastised.  The solution, a really full, colorful fridge door!  And...a sneakier Momma.

I've been keeping a running tab of the chapter books Jackson has been reading on his own.  His books come from the Jim Trelease's book list, the Songlight grade two reading list, and his own choices from the public library.  This is the September list (note that P. stands for Pokemon...got it!): Ice Wreck, Pink Pokemon, Home Field Advantage, Ash Ketchum P. Detective, Island of the Giant P., Magic Tree House Good Morning Gorillas, Frindle, Two of a Kind P., Scooby Doo and Pirates Ahoy, P. Ranger, P. Secrets of a GS Ball, Riachu Takes a Stand, Snorlax Sounds Off, Meowth the Big Mouth, Squirtle Gets Saved, Geronimo Stilton Mummy with No Name, The Chalk Box Kid, Toothpaste Millionaire.  Every Monday he's working on some type of a book report from the list of books he's read.  Right now, we're working on the format of a book report on this form and will eventually work into writing a one page book report complete with one (or more??) paragraphs.

Note: As we're going along in the process and I see the amount of planning time I'm spending, I'm taking very good notes that when Lena & PJ come along into second grade, we'll be ready to roll!  Bear with me on blog details, therefore....it will help me in the end!
